Hi there! I’m Christa with Fixed Fee IT, Portland Oregon's best IT support. Welcome back to our series on How to use Microsoft Teams. Today’s tutorial walks through how you can invite someone outside of your organization to a Teams meeting.

One of the best features about Microsoft Teams is the different ways you can connect with others. We briefly covered this topic in our video What is Microsoft Teams, which you can view by clicking the link down below or the icon on the right side of this video. Today we are going to go over how you can invite guests outside of your organization into a video meeting in Teams.

To start, you will open Microsoft Teams and navigate to your calendar. To do so, you will click on the Calendar Icon in the panel to your left.

If you do not have a Calendar Icon in this panel, you can add one by clicking on the Three Dots Icon, typing calendar in the search bar, and then selecting the Calendar App from there.

Once you are in your Microsoft Teams Calendar, you are going to create your new meeting.

We are going to create a meeting with Caitlin at two PM today by clicking on the related empty slot.

This will open your new meeting details panel.

Once in this panel, we are going to go to the add new attendees’ box, under the meeting title. By clicking in this box, you will be prompted to enter the email address of the guest you are wanting to invite.

We are going to type in Caitlin’s Gmail account, and then click invite.

To add additional guests to this meeting, click the Options Button on the right side of the Add New Attendees’ Box, and a second box will appear where you can add in more emails.

It doesn’t matter if your guest is using another email provider such as Yahoo or Hotmail, Teams will send an invite to their inbox so long as you put their correct email address into the Add New Attendees box.

Now you can fill out the rest of the information about your meeting, and when you are done, click send.
